What Is Hospice Care

Hospice is specialized support for people facing advanced illness when the goal shifts from cure to comfort. You receive a coordinated team that focuses on pain and symptom relief, emotional and spiritual support, and guidance for decisions. The goal is to improve quality of life for you and your family.

What You Receive

  • Regular nurse visits with 24/7 on call support

  • Physician oversight and care planning

  • Home health aide assistance for personal care

  • Social work and chaplain support for you and your family

  • Medications, medical equipment, and supplies related to the hospice diagnosis

  • Grief support for at least one year for your loved ones

Hospice is not a place you go to. It is a service that comes to you wherever you call home.

Who We Serve

You may be eligible when a physician certifies a life expectancy of six months or less if the illness follows its usual course. We care for adults with conditions such as heart disease, COPD, dementia, cancer, stroke, and other serious illnesses. If you are unsure about eligibility, call us for a quick conversation. We will help you understand options and next steps.

Who Pays For Hospice

Hospice is typically 100% covered by Medicare. Medicaid and most private plans also cover hospice. Coverage usually includes medications, equipment, and supplies related to the hospice diagnosis. There are no surprise bills for covered hospice services. Our team verifies benefits and explains any small, plan specific copays for items not related to hospice.

Why Start Hospice Earlier

Choosing hospice earlier allows more time to manage symptoms, align care with your goals, and support the family. Peer reviewed studies have shown that patients who enroll earlier can live about 29 days longer, with better comfort and fewer burdensome interventions. Earlier support often means more time together and a calmer experience.

Frequently Asked Questions

When Should Someone Start Hospice Care

You can start when the focus is comfort and a physician certifies a life expectancy of six months or less. We encourage families to explore hospice as soon as symptoms affect quality of life so full support can begin.

What Does Hospice Care Include

You receive a team approach with nursing, physician oversight, home health aide support, social work, chaplaincy, medications, supplies, and medical equipment related to the hospice diagnosis. Care is tailored to your goals.

Where Is Care Provided

Care is provided wherever you live, including private residences, assisted living communities, and skilled nursing facilities across the Denver metro.

Can Veterans Receive Specialized Support

Yes. We honor veterans with tailored support and coordination of benefits and resources.

Is Hospice A Contract

No. Hospice is a Medicare-defined benefit and a voluntary service. You are not locked into a long-term contract. You may stop hospice at any time (called a revocation) if you want to pursue curative treatments or prefer a different approach. If your condition improves and you no longer meet eligibility criteria, you may be discharged from hospice; you can re-enroll later if you again qualify. You can also transfer to another hospice agency if you prefer a different provider. Our team will coordinate any change so there are no gaps in support.
